Aisha is an indigene of Kano State, a Private Sector Development Expert with a strong background in Investments, Gender Studies and the M4P approach of business environment reforms. Aisha is the current Investment Lead in the DfID programme LINKS, where she is responsible for overseeing and implementing the programmes goals in improving investment promotion & facilitation, improving flows of finance and enhance investment intelligence in Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa States.

Aisha began her career in 2002 as the Project Officer on SME investments at TradeCrafts Limited before moving on to serve as the Coordinator of Avenir-NEPAD International Nigeria providing business development support SMEs. In 2006, she joined the Access and Equity Team for Girls’ Education and People with Special Needs during the reform of the Education sector and then a Business Advisor in the World Bank supported London Business Development Agency MSME Project in Kaduna In 2007. She joined in 2008 Oceanic Bank where she worked in PSG (Public Sector Group) marketing team until 2010. She joined Heinrich Boll Stiftung (hbs) as the Project Manager – Gender Democracy till 2012. In 2012, Aisha began to provide technical support to ENABLE/DfID in business environment reforms which included building the capacity of the Leather and Allied products Association (LAPAN). In 2015, GEMS3/DfID embedded Aisha in the Kaduna State Government as their Investment Promotion Coordinator and directly facilitated the set up of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency- KADIPA. In 2017 Aisha joined GEMS4 as the Investment Advisor and then the International Finance Corporation as its representative for Northern Nigeria.

Aisha is an alumnus of Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands Ahmadu Bello University and Nigerian Defence Academy with a Diploma in Business Dynamics, Degree in Agric Engineering and master’s in financial economics. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Banking, a recipient of the Ambassador for Peace award and the former Director of Memberships - World Association of NGOs (WANGO). She graduated with a Bsc in Public Policy & Management from the University of Birmingham.
